Exam Implementation Rules to Prevent Electronic Cheating Attempts

Dear Students,
In recent examinations, various complaints and findings have been received indicating that some students attempted to cheat using electronic devices. In order to preserve academic integrity and ensure that exams are conducted fairly, the following measures will be implemented and will apply to all examinations:

1. Use of Electronic Devices

  • The use of any kind of electronic device during the exam—such as mobile phones, smartwatches, wireless earbuds, tablets, etc.—is strictly prohibited.

  • These devices must be placed in students’ bags and kept turned off before the exam begins.

  • Scientific calculators that do not require internet access or high computational power may be used with the permission of the course instructor.

  • Proctors will conduct checks before and during the exam. If an unauthorized device is found, an official report will be filed and disciplinary procedures will be initiated.

2. Proctoring and Seating Arrangement

  • During the exam, proctors will continuously move around the classroom and will pay particular attention to students sitting in the back rows.

  • Students’ seating arrangements will be randomly reassigned prior to the exam. Requests to change seats will not be accepted.

3. Personal Belongings and Attire

  • Coats, bags, jackets, and similar personal belongings must be left outside the classroom or in an area designated by the proctor.

  • Only essential items such as ID cards, pens, erasers, and required exam materials may be on desks.

4. Consequences of Cheating Attempts

  • Students who attempt to cheat—whether through electronic or traditional means—will be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the relevant provisions of Law No. 2547 on Higher Education.

  • Students caught cheating will have their exams invalidated and may face penalties including suspension as determined by the disciplinary board.

5. Ethical Principles

  • We invite all students to adhere to the principles of academic integrity and to succeed through their own knowledge and effort.

  • These principles are not only essential for academic success but also form the foundation for being a trustworthy individual in professional life.

These rules apply to all course examinations, and students will be deemed to have read and accepted them.

We thank you and wish all our students success.
