Final Project Report Submission Checklist (MÜDEK Criteria)
When submitting the Graduation Project reports, the following checklist will be taken as a basis. Please make sure you complete all steps successfully.
- Has the student completed the MÜDEK seminar quiz? (This Quiz is administered by the Müdek Commission.)
- After the similarity check of the thesis is done by the department, is it within the valid limits? (Total similarity < 10%, per source < 3%.)
- Is there a front cover page, is it suitable for the format and is the name and date information correct?
- Is there an inside cover page, is it suitable for the format and is the name and date information correct?
- Is there a table of contents and does it fit the format?
- Is there a figure list page and does it fit the format?
- Is there a table list page and does it fit the format?
- Is there an introduction section and is it long enough?
- Is there a research purpose section and is the content written appropriately?
- Is there a literature research section and is it cited sufficiently?
- Is there a "Realistic Constraints and Conditions" subsection in the design section and is it appropriate?
- Is there a "Cost of Design" subsection in the design section and is it appropriate?
- Is there an "Engineering Standards" subsection in the design section and is it appropriate?
- Is there a "Design Details" subsection in the design section and is it appropriate?
- Is there a method section and is the content appropriate?
- Is there a Results and Discussion section and is the content appropriate?
- Is there a comments section and is the content appropriate?
- Are the references listed at the end of the thesis, and are their number and format appropriate?
- Are the codes added in written form? (The written codes are scanned for similarity by Turnitin, so adding codes in image format is prohibited.)
Acknowledging AI Usage in Your Manuscript
If you utilized artificial intelligence (AI) while preparing your manuscript, please select the most appropriate statement below and apply it to the Acknowledgments section of your paper.
Option 1: AI Used for Drafting Specific Sections
(Select this if AI generated initial text, literature summaries, or structural drafts.)
Acknowledgments: During the preparation of this work, the author(s) utilized [Name of AI System, e.g., ChatGPT-4] to [describe the use case] in Section(s) [specify sections]. Following the use of this tool, the author(s) thoroughly reviewed and edited the material, and assume full responsibility for the final content of the publication.
Option 2: AI Used for Data or Code Generation
(Select this if AI assisted in writing scripts, algorithms, or generating datasets.)
Acknowledgments: The author(s) acknowledge the use of [Name of AI System, e.g., GitHub Copilot] to assist in generating the [describe content] used for the experimental evaluation in Section [specify section]. The authors have rigorously tested and verified all generated code.
Option 3: AI Used Purely for Editing and Grammar
(Select this if AI was solely used to polish human-written text. Disclosure remains highly recommended.)
Acknowledgments: During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used [Name of AI System] solely for editing and grammatical enhancement to improve text readability. The authors reviewed all modifications and assume full responsibility for the final content.
Thesis Report Submission & Naming Rules
Each group must submit their project posters, presentations, and thesis reports to the related course folder in Turnitin before the deadline. Reports sent after the deadline will NOT be processed. Only one student (Contact author) in each group has been registered to make uploads.
When naming your files, use only the Contact author's name as specified below. Submit files with the .pdf extension only (do not upload as .zip or .rar).

Format and Turnitin Control Process
Format and Turnitin checks will begin after submission. You can follow the process on page 2 of the Group Information Table. Status codes: (1 Green: Success, 0 Orange: Correction, -1 Red: No file/Failure).
- Completion of file uploads by the Final Deadline. (Failure to upload means failing the Final and proceeding to Make-up).
- Checking thesis reports and posters/presentations by the Department Committee against formatting criteria.
- Notification emails sent to the contact address for necessary corrections.
- Re-uploading corrected files by project groups.
- Re-evaluation of formatting criteria. Failure to correct leads to Final failure.
- Running Turnitin Similarity and AI-based checks for format-approved projects.
- Notification emails sent for similarity threshold violations.
- Re-uploading files following similarity corrections.
- Projects passing all stages successfully proceed to the Final Presentation day. (Make-up process follows the same steps).
Turnitin Control Limits
Turnitin controls are managed by the department. When testing independently, make sure your report is set to No Repository so it is not recorded in the global Turnitin database.
- Total similarity rate must be a maximum of 10%.
- Similarity for any single source must be a maximum of 3%.
- Source codes must be included as text, not images. Violations result in direct referral to the make-up exam.
